Tobias is a partner in Flick Gocke Schaumburg’s Bonn office. His practice covers the entire range of employment law and social security matters. In the field of VC he especially provides legal advice regarding e.g. ESOPs (post-contractual), non-compete covenants or employee incentive programs.

Education & Career

Tobias studied law in Bonn (Ph.D.), Lausanne, Geneva and Nijmegen. After spending part of his legal clerkship in Sydney at one of Australia’s TOP 5 law firms, he joined Flick Gocke Schaumburg in 2005 and has been a partner since 2009. Tobias initiated and now heads the firm’s employment and labor law practice, which also covers all matters in the field of social security. He frequently publishes on employment law and labor law topics.



Recent highlights of Tobias' experience include advising:

  • Project A on implementing an employee participation program
  • Cherry Ventures on the procedure to determine the social security status
  • Merantix on contractual arrangements concerning trainee employment contracts



When it comes to his private life, Tobias’ first priority is his family - his wife and three daughters. Since managing four women is already quiet tough, he spends the rest of his free time meeting friends or doing and watching sports such like soccer, motorsport or tennis.
