Christian is an associated partner in Flick Gocke Schaumburg´s Berlin and Hamburg offices. He advises corporations, startups and investors on national and international tax aspects of their business. Christian is particularly focused on the tax aspects of business reorganizations and M&A transactions.

Education & Career

Born in Berlin, Christian studied law at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg (Ph.D) and Columbia University (New York). After having completed his legal training he joined the Berlin office of Flick Gocke Schaumburg as an attorney-at-law in 2008. In 2011, Christian qualified as a certified tax advisor.


Christian teaches tax law on the Cologne University Master program on tax law and is a regular visiting lecturer at the Federal Finance Academy (Bundesfinanzakademie), where he enjoys discussing recent tax developments with members of the tax administration (including tax auditors).

 

Experience

Recent highlights of Christian’s experience include advising several large companies on tax efficient business reorganizations (mergers, spin-offs etc.) and foreign investors on investment structures.

 

Personal

Christian enjoys spending time with his family and his three little kids, cycling with friends through lonely landscapes and improving his piano skills.
